Hey everyone, any retro fans?
I'm trying to upgrade an old amd phenom ii x4 965 to a less old i3 3220. The change is only swapping the motherboard and processor from one working system to another. I want to keep everything else on the amd as it is - PSU, GPU, ram, etc.
When I did the switch, the new system does not boot. PSU and CPU fans does not turn on. After pressing the power button, the two fans only twitch from time to time.
I disconnected and remove everything from the i3 motherboard but the CPU and its fan and plugged it first to its original PSU(atx-500 power box) and after that to the AMD system PSU(epsilon 80plus 600). With the original PSU everything works, with the one from the amd system - nothing.
I did the same on the amd system - with both PSU the older system boots up without a problem.
I need to use the epsilon PSU, since the ATX-500 has no PCI connector for the GPU.
Any ideas?
Update: Seems like a strange PSU problem. 'project' cancelled, case closed.
